Anton BURGER, " Stettmeister "

Anton BURGER is born in Colmar in 1579. He got married with Anna ORTLIEB of Riquewihr. He was member of the corporation of the tradesmen since 1602. Anton BURGER he was built a surprising House of Heads in the 19, street of Heads in 1609. The house has to its name in the many sculptured heads which appear among the ornaments of the facade. Anton BURGER becomes to counsel in 1612 then stettmeister (first magistrate) in 1626. In 1628, he runs away to Basel where he stays until his death. |
