Martin SCHONGAUER, been born in Colmar by 1450 was an engraver and a medieval painter admired by his peers notably Dürer.
He is the author of The Virgo in the Bush of Rose , "The Death of the Virgo" and "The Temptation of Holy Antoine" .
He would have lived in a said house "House in the Swan" of the current street which carries its name from 1477 till 1490.
He died to Breisach in 1491.
