François-Marie AROUET alias " VOLTAIRE ", the philosopher

The philosopher scrambled with the king of Prussia Frédéric II withdrew in Colmar from October 1753 to November 1754 where he rented two pieces in the GOLL house 10, Rue Berthe MOLLY. He finished there the " Annals of the Empire " thanks to the assistant of the jurists from Colmar. VOLTAIRE spoke of Colmar as a " little religious city, full of harassments, where everybody confesses, everybody hates...".
