Works started end August 2005 for the west access of the station of Colmar.

The end of works is waited for the end of the summer 2006. This yard, that in parallel leads the SNCF and the city, notably to the level of financing, must prepare the arrival of the European TGV Est and open the station on the west districts.

For the SNCF, the arrival of the TGV is going to drag an increase of 50% of the yearly traffic of travelers in the station of Colmar.

The project is to achieve a pavilion covered to the west of the ways, in the extension of the underground passage. This west pavilion will be composed of a new space of sale with ticket windows and automats, of a space of access to the underground passage by a staircase and a panoramic elevator that will be accessible to people to reduced mobility.

These works will come with a modification of the descriptive, of the sound and by a better security of the site thanks to the video surveillance. In the underground passage, some elevators will facilitate the access at the embankments
